Hi there,
Sometimes a bill needs to go out today, but your incoming funds haven't finished settling. Express payments fix that.
How it works. For a small fee, Truss advances the portion of your payment that's still settling so it goes out the same day. When your own funds finish settling a day or two later, they automatically cover what we advanced — there's nothing to pay back manually.
What it costs. 1.75% of the amount that's still settling, with a $1 minimum. You're only charged on the part that hasn't settled yet, not the whole payment, so your fee shrinks as your money settles — often all the way to zero. You'll always see the exact cost before you confirm.
Always optional. Standard sending stays free, and Express only appears when part of a payment is still settling. If a payment can already go out on its own, there's no fee and no Express option — there's nothing to speed up.
Getting started. An owner enables Express once for your company. After that, you'll see the Express option on eligible bill payments — pick Express or Standard right before you send.
Good to know. Express currently works on direct-deposit (ACH) bill payments, with a same-day cutoff of 2:24 PM ET. Payments confirmed after the cutoff send the next business day.
