Last month at Truss, we've been relentlessly focused on providing you with cutting-edge tools and a seamless experience. This month, we're thrilled to share significant advancements that boost your security, enhance convenience, and supercharge your efficiency.

Here’s a quick look at what’s new and what’s coming to your Truss account.

TL;DR

  • Balance Protection (Beta) – When enabled, this feature will automatically cover the unprocessed funds for a small 1% fee. Experience seamless cash flow, so your projects stay on track.
  • QuickBooks Payment Sync – Now live! See external payments from QuickBooks right inside Truss for a more complete financial overview and easier reconciliation.
  • Apple Pay for Invoices – Coming soon! Your clients can pay your invoices instantly and securely using Apple Pay on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
  • All-New Native Mobile App – Coming soon! A rebuilt Truss mobile app with a faster experience, biometric login, and Tap-to-Pay for contactless payments on the go!

🛡️ Balance Protection (Beta)

  • This new feature automatically prevents payment returns by ensuring funds are fully settled before a transaction is processed. This helps you avoid overdrafts and returned payment fees, giving you greater peace of mind.
  • When enabled, this feature will automatically cover the unprocessed funds for a 1% fee. Experience seamless cash flow, so your projects stay on track.
  • Go to your Accounts tab and click "Get Balance Protection – (Beta)" to enroll.

🧾 QuickBooks Payment Sync

  • To give you a more complete financial overview, you can now see external payments recorded in QuickBooks right within your Truss account. This saves you time and makes account reconciliation a breeze.

📱 All-New Mobile App!

Your Truss experience on the go is about to get a big upgrade! We’re excited to announce that a completely rebuilt Truss mobile app is on the way in the coming month.

Our team is developing a native app from the ground up for iOS and Android to make managing your business on Truss faster, smoother, and more intuitive. Stay tuned for a rollout soon – we can’t wait to get this into your hands!

Some highlights coming with the new app:

🔑 Biometric Login:

  • Secure, one-touch access via fingerprint or face recognition. No more typing passwords on your phone – just a quick Touch ID or Face ID and you’re in.
  • Tap-to-Pay: Turn your phone into a card reader! The new app will support contactless payments through Stripe Tap-to-Pay, allowing you to accept in-person credit card payments with a simple tap on your phone – no extra hardware needed. This means easier point-of-sale payments anywhere your business takes you.

🍎 Apple Pay:

  • Soon, your clients will be able to pay you instantly and securely with Apple Pay, right from their iPhone, iPad, or Mac. What this means for you:
  • Faster payments: Clients can check out in seconds without typing in card details.
  • More ways to pay: Apple Pay joins our existing credit card and ACH options, making it even easier for your clients to choose their preferred method.
  • Secure transactions: Every Apple Pay payment is authenticated with Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode, adding an extra layer of protection for you.

Enhanced Accounts Page

We’ve been listening closely to your feedback, and we know how important it is to clearly understand your balances and how your payments affect them. That’s why we’re excited to roll out new improvements to your Accounts page, designed to give you clearer, more transparent insights into your cash flow.


The Dynamic Truss Balance - Your Accounts page now features a dynamic funds bar that updates in real time—so you always know what’s available, what’s incoming, and what’s on hold.

Here’s how it works:

  • 💧 Liquid Funds – These are fully available and can be accessed for things like pre-approved bill payments and external transfers.
  • ⏳ Incoming Funds – These are payments from invoices that are still processing. You can use them within the Truss Network, spend on your Truss cards, or pay bills, but they haven’t cleared for external use yet.
  • 🔍 Want to dive deeper? Head to your Cash dashboard and click on Uncleared Funds to see the breakdown of what’s temporarily unavailable due to pending transactions.

🔐 More Transparency, Right Where You Need It

  • Routing Info & FDIC Coverage: Your account routing details and FDIC insurance (via Thread Bank) are now easily accessible—and copyable—right next to your balance.
  • Know Your Limits: We’ve revamped the Account Limits tab so you can clearly see how much you’ve used and how much room you have to move funds..
  • Download your Routing Information straight from the cash accounts dashboard.
  • Access your Account Limits to see how much you've used and how much is remaining.

👀 Coming Soon: Even More Visibility

We’re working on a new feature that gives you a clear, easy-to-read view of when your funds will arrive. No more guessing or waiting in the dark. Soon, you’ll have a section showing timelines for incoming payments, so you can plan with confidence.

Instant Vendor Checkout

We are excited to introduce a new feature on Truss that adds significant value to your business: Instant Vendor Checkout. This feature is designed to improve your vendor relationships by enabling instant access to funds on bill payments, even on weekends and holidays.

Give Vendors Instant Access to Funds

When you send bill payments to your vendors via a payment link, they will now see an Instant Withdrawal option during checkout, alongside the existing payment methods standard bank transfer and check delivery. This means vendors can access their funds immediately, enhancing their cash flow and operational efficiency.

The best part: The instant withdrawal for vendors works 24/7, including weekends and bank holidays.

There is a 1.5% fee for instant withdrawals, which will be carried by the vendor accepting the funds. Your vendors still have the option to accept funds for free via standard bank transfer or check delivery.

Improved Bill Payments & And More

We are thrilled to announce some exciting new features and updates to Truss that will enhance your banking and payments experience. Here’s what’s new:


1) Partial Bill Payments

We understand the need for flexibility in managing bill payments. With our new partial bill payment feature, you can now:

  • Make progress payments on bills by paying them partially.
  • Pay bills using different payment methods (e.g., part via Direct Deposit, part via check).
  • Easily track outstanding and paid balances as all payments associated with a bill will be shown on the bill itself.
  • Easily review & approve draft payments created by bookkeepers or project manager.

Note: The partial bill payments feature is not designed for automatic, recurring payments. Each partial payment needs to be initiated individually.


2) Mark Bills as Paid

You now have the ability to mark a bill as paid, even if you’ve used a payment method outside of Truss. This feature allows you to:

  • Specify and document how the bill was paid, providing a comprehensive record of your payments.

3) Imported QuickBooks Bills

To streamline your workflow, we’ve made an update to how QuickBooks bills are imported:

  • Imported bills now go into an "Unpaid" state rather than a "Pending approval" state.
  • Admin users can then create a payment on the bill to be sent to the vendor. Bookkeepers and Project Managers can create draft payments that will move the bill into the “Pending approval” state and notify the admin to approve and send.
  • If you want to re-open a previously paid Quickbooks bill to send additional payments, you can update the bill in Quickbooks and manually ‘Resync’ the bill in Truss to move the bills status from “Paid” to “Partially paid.”

4) Updated QuickBooks Invoices

We’ve also made improvements to how QuickBooks invoices are updated in Truss:

  • When you want to collect additional payments on a Quickbooks invoice that was previously paid in Truss, all you have to do is update the invoice in Quickbooks and it will automatically change the invoice status in Truss from "Paid" to "Partially paid."
  • This makes it easier for clients who use progress payments with a single invoice that changes over time, ensuring accurate tracking of payments and outstanding balances.

5) New Partnerships on the Marketplace

We are excited to introduce two new partners to our marketplace:

  • RenoFi offers home renovation loans up to $500,000 without the need for refinancing, draws, or inspections. Access RenoFi Loans for free through the 'Rewards' page on your Truss dashboard.
  • Drillbit provides hands-off office work for home service businesses using AI employees. Get 50% off platform fees for 3 months plus 3 full-time AI employees at no extra cost when you mention Truss during your demo call.

Updated Privacy Policy

We have updated our privacy policy to provide more control over your data by including an additional link to opt out of third party marketing services. You can find the updated version on our website.

We understand some vendors still prefer physical checks. That’s why we’re pleased to announce you can now order a customized checkbook for your Truss account.

How to order your Truss checkbook

As a valued existing customer, you can now order your own customized Truss checkbook by following the order checkbook steps through the dashboard.

Our Business On-The-Go checkbook includes 50 checks with a register and vinyl cover. Your custom business name, address, and phone number will be included in the top left corner of the check.

Retry Failed Bill Payments

We understand managing bill payments is a critical part of your business. To make this process smoother and more efficient for you, we have introduced the ability to retry failed bill payments.


Update and Retry

If you enter invalid information when creating a bill, or if your vendor enters their information incorrectly when accepting a payment, you can now update and retry the bill payment without having to create a new bill.

Creating bills is now smoother than ever with our new flow. You can upload attachments directly and review details simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and saving you time.

2. Imported Bills Table

Bills imported from Quickbooks Online will now directly populate into the table on your Bills Dashboard in Truss. This gives you a clearer and more comprehensive view of all your outstanding bills.

3. Streamlined Approval Process

Imported bills from Quickbooks Online will automatically be set to "pending approval," and the account admin(s) will receive notifications to review these.

4. Review & Edit In One Go:

Account admins now have the ability to edit bill details during the review process, providing more control and flexibility.

Send Checks From Truss

We are thrilled to announce a new payment feature that provides added flexibility for your vendor bill payments.

Introducing Check Payments to Vendors

When you send a bill payment to a vendor, they can now accept the payment via a mailed check, in addition to our existing payment methods,

If you know your vendor prefers a check, you can also choose the check delivery option when initiating the bill payment.

How It Works

You can either choose 'Check delivery' as the payment method when making a bill payment and enter your vendor's address for them.

Or, if you select 'Let vendor decide' how to accept the payment, they can choose the 'Check delivery' option when accepting the payment.

A check will be sent to the provided address and delivered within 5-7 business days.

Benefits for You

No Additional Cost: There is no cost for sending checks, either for you or your vendors.

No Setup Required: This feature is automatically available for all your bill payments — no need to enable anything on your part.

Transparency and Control: Easily track and cancel check payments from your dashboard.
